On February 5, 2025, an Executive Order amendment was issued regarding additional duties on imports from China and Hong Kong.

The key takeaway?

Certain goods previously subject to tariffs under HTS code 9903.01.20 may now qualify for duty-free entry under the de minimis exemption (19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(C)).

🔹 What This Means:

✅ Small-value shipments (typically under $800) from China & Hong Kong may now enter the U.S. without tariffs if they meet exemption criteria.

✅ The ACE system has been updated to process these de minimis clearances, making customs clearance smoother.

✅ This could significantly lower costs for businesses relying on low-value imports and increase efficiency in supply chains.

💡 Why This Matters:

For importers, e-commerce sellers, and logistics professionals, this change opens new opportunities to optimize import strategies, reduce expenses, and streamline operations.

Now is the time to review your import classifications and leverage this exemption for maximum cost savings. If your business imports from China or Hong Kong, this could be a game-changer! 🚢📦
